Meals on Wheels Needs Volunteers to Deliver Meals in Pottstown
Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to homebound older adults in the greater Pottstown area.
Delivery volunteers meet weekdays at 10:15 a.m. at Family Services’ Pottstown Office (1976 East High Street, Pottstown). Delivery routes take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete.
Volunteer drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, and their own reliable vehicle. Background and reference checks are required.
Most volunteers commit to delivering meals once a week, while others volunteer on a substitute basis. Volunteers who can serve on a substitute or “as needed” basis are greatly appreciated. Training is provided.
For more information, please contact Program Director Rebecca Clark Mays at 610-326-1610 ext. 336 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each weekday, Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program provides two meals to an average of 130 homebound elderly individuals in Pottstown, Royersford, and the Lower Perkiomen Valley. Community volunteers personally deliver more than 80,000 meals a year, bringing nourishment, friendship and a kind word to those most in need.
