Housing Resource Center

In July 2024, Family Services partnered with Your Way Home Montgomery County to respond to homelessness by connecting individuals with housing and community resources.

Your Way Home's Rapid Re-Housing program provides housing-focused case management and financial assistance to homeless households to quickly find and move them into permanent housing and then obtain the support needed to maintain that housing long-term.

The guiding principles of Rapid Re-Housing are:

  • Inclusivity & Flexibility — The Rapid Re-Housing program is an intervention designed for and flexible enough to serve anyone not able to exit homelessness on their own.
  • Progressive Engagement — The Your Way Home Rapid Re-Housing program maximizes the number of households it can serve by providing households with financial assistance in a progressive manner, providing only the assistance necessary to stabilize permanent housing.
  • Finding & Maintaining Permanent Housing — Within the limits of the participant’s income, the Your Way Home Rapid Re-Housing program helps households access units that are desirable and sustainable — those that are in neighborhoods where they want to live in, that have access to transportation, are close to employment, and that are safe.
  • Landlord Engagement & Retention — Housing identification efforts are designed to actively recruit and retain landlords and housing managers willing to rent to program participants who may otherwise fail to pass typical tenant screening criteria.

To be connected to Your Way Home's Rapid Re-Housing program, please call the Your Way Home Helpline at 610-278-3522 to be connected to a Coordinated Entry Specialist.

Shared Housing and Resource Exchange (SHARE)

Shared Housing and Resource Exchange (SHARE) is an affordable housing choice that brings together homeowners who want to share their home with home seekers who are looking for housing in exchange for rent, help around the house, or a combination of both. The home seeker receives their own bedroom and agreed upon use of the common areas.

Every arrangement is unique depending on the the needs, preferences, and abilities of the participants involved.

SHARE participants must be at least 18 years of age, and one of the individuals in the match must be over the age of 60.
