Meals on Wheels Needs Volunteers to Pack and Deliver Meals in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN, PA, January 6, 2012 — Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program is in need of volunteers to pack and deliver meals to homebound elderly and disabled individuals in the greater Pottstown area.

Meals on Wheels packing volunteers gather at Family Services’ Pottstown Office, 1976 East High Street, each weekday. There are two shifts to pack meals: 8-10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-noon.

Volunteers who deliver meals meet at Family Services’ Pottstown Office each weekday at 10:30 a.m. Delivery routes take approximately one-and-a-half hours to complete. Volunteer drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance and their own reliable vehicle.

Most volunteers commit to packing or delivering meals once a week, while others volunteer on a substitute basis. Training is provided.
